Cedar Park/Austin

Located on the edge of the Texas Hill Country, Cedar Park is located just 21 miles from downtown Austin, and April is a fantastic time to visit this beautiful area of the country — the temperature is pleasant (the scorching Texas summer heat hasn’t moved in yet), the bluebonnets are in bloom, and it’s the ideal patio weather!

Austin is known for its vibrant music scene, often referred to as the Live Music Capital of the World. Visitors can catch live music at the many clubs, coffeehouses, bars, restaurants and festivals, and in just about every nook and cranny of this lively city. For a distinct Austin vibe, check out the popular Sixth Street, where you’ll discover a colorful array of bars, restaurants and entertainment venues — all bursting with musical performances.

There’s also no shortage of other world-class attractions and family-friendly activities in Texas’ capital city. Museums, art galleries, parks, swimming holes, shops, hiking trails — you name it, Austin has it, and it’s proud of its “Keep Austin Weird” motto. Truth be told, the slogan is really just a call to keep the city from losing its eclectic character.

For a unique Austin experience, be sure to visit the Congress Avenue Bridge, home to the largest bat colony in
North America. At sunset, you’ll marvel at the hundreds of thousands of bats emerging from underneath the iconic bridge.
